what is a public adjuster

Where do I find a P.A.?

The internet is the best source for finding a P.A. that represents clients in your area, but as you begin researching, you'll find that most P.A. firms are located in large cities, and have multitudes of clients.  You want to try to use a firm, or Independent P.A. who has business, but is not overwhelmed.  This allows for adequate time for focused attention on each client.  Noble P.A. Group has a branch out policy in place that enables our P.A.s to focus on a minimal amount of clients at one time, by limiting the number and hiring more adjusters when numbers exceed the set amount.  We also have P.A.s placed in rural areas, to fill the need all around each state.  Go to our contact page for information on how to obtain the services of one of our P.A.s;  you'll be glad you did, because you have nothing to lose.  Our pay comes directly from the money the insurance company awards, so there's no money out of pocket, only money in your pocket.  To learn about how it works, Click on "How it works".

How do I chose the right P.A.?

It is pretty easy to choose the right Public Adjuster, but easier to choose the wrong one!  You want to make sure that your adjuster is registered as a licensed Public Adjuster in your state.  One can be a licensed Insurance Adjuster, but it takes more to become a licensed Public  Insurance Adjuster.  States regulate licensing by putting adjusters through rigorous testing, finger printing and background checks, etc.  Public Adjusters also have to be bonded, ranging anywhere from $5,000 to $50,000, depending on the state. You can easily find out if your P.A. is licensed and bonded by calling your state department of insurance, or visiting their website.  Your Public Adjuster should provide you with their license number for this purpose.  Like with anything else, you want someone that is knowledgeable and experienced, so ask for references, and work history.  Adjusters are supposed to be professionals;  your P.A. should speak, act, and dress professionally, return phone calls in a timely manner, and be willing to answer questions you may have.  To obtain the services of a P.A., cost will range from 8% to 15% of your total claim.  Anything higher or lower than those amounts may be a red flag as to whether or not you've hired the right P.A..
