The insurance adjuster works for the insurance company, naturally they are prone to be a little bias. If they gave the max amount on each claim, it's safe to assume they may not have a job for long. That's why it's important to understand your rights as the insured, and to know where your negotiating power lies. We thoroughly enjoy our job, helping the public, who otherwise have no advocate or defense against the insurance company.
First you engage our services. All you need to do is call us, or email us. Go to our contact page for that information. After an over the phone consultation, your Public Adjuster will come out to inspect and asses the damages. This usually includes taking pictures and asking questions. We work 6 days a week and have flexible meeting hours, so it should be easy to come to an agreement on an appropriate time. Once it's established that there is adequate damage and a "case" so to speak, a contract is signed. No fine print, no fancy wording, just a contract to say you have given permission for the Public Adjuster to represent you and speak with the insurance company.
We then notify the insurance company, and send them our professional Xactimate estimate, with the actual estimated damages, including what they left off. That's when the negotiation process begins. Negotiation time can range from a few days to a few months, it really depends on how efficient your insurance company is. During this process your P.A. will contact them almost daily to check the status of your claim, and to ensure that they are working on it steadily. Finally there will be an agreement made for what the actual damages are, and what a fair allotment will be. The insurance company will usually, within days, issue a check to you and the Public Adjuster to cover your damages and costs. You don't have to strike a check for our services, the pay comes directly from the insurance company. It's almost like you're getting all of this for free! So what are you waiting for? Give us a call and receive your free consultation today.
Remember insurance companies are in the
business to protect their stockholders and may seem to appear
bias. You have the right to have your own appraisal or
estimate of damage done in your defense. A Public Adjuster is the
option no insurance company will tell you about. A Public
Adjuster is a licensed insurance adjuster that works for the
public, instead of for the insurance company.
One can be a licensed Insurance Adjuster, but it takes more to become a licensed Public Insurance Adjuster. States regulate licensing by putting adjusters through rigorous testing, finger printing and background checks, etc.
